Getting Ready For Estate Liquidation & Fundraising Events

It’s a unique combination to have a lady liquidator, Susan Bender, Owner of DejaVu Estate Sales and Auctions with a huge showroom in Palm Beach Gardens working with a female Auctioneer, Lori Wilk, on huge estate liquidations with live events and auctions.

It is a fascinating combination and coordinated effort to bring together the right combination of estate sale items such as designer clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories and jewelry with high-end furnishings and decorative and collectible artwork in a way that brings in the buyers and makes money for the consignors, the liquidators, and auctioneer.

Women can be a great business combination when experienced in juggling running of households, families, and business enterprises in a way that is supportive of the staff members needed to pull everything off and caring about the customers and the assets they are liquidating.

It’s a very rare combination to have both a “Lady Liquidator” with a “Woman Auctioneer “ but also helpful as they have to get ready for these huge estate liquidations and fundraising events.

Part of their plan for success includes hosting monthly live auctions in Palm Beach Gardens with simulcast selling on online auction sites such as Live Auctioneer, Invaluable, and Hi Bid. Each month at both the live auction events, there’s a fundraising component set up for a local charity to benefit in Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach County area.

For August events which include a live auction of more than 550 items and a special buying and appraisal event a few days after the live auction, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Women’s Chamber Foundation as part of their efforts to fill 1,000 backpacks with school supplies for Back-To-School.

There is so much to be done to prepare for live on-sale Estate Sale Liquidation Events and both Online and Live Auctions. Items must be identified and prepared for the sales. There are untold numbers of hours needed for organizing and tagging items with item numbers and pricing items should they be offered at sales and not at auction.

All these Estate Sale items are people’s assets and family possessions. It is very important to be respectful and compassionate as well as professional when handling these estate sales and auctions. We are both caring and professional and want to help these families get the most they can for their items.

Protecting the items that are being sold is important. We hire security professionals to oversee the on-site sales and to be at the live events and auctions.

We help the families and often make recommendations about removing small and valuable items from the on-site sales inside homes and suggest they sell many of these items at auction or from inside our showroom where they can be locked up behind glass for viewing and protecting.

The best advice we offer about getting ready to sell items from an estate is to give yourself time to prepare instead of deciding to make a sale and wanting to start the next day without preparation. Organization and preparation takes more hours than most people understand for liquidation and auction sales to get the best results.

It cost money to have a great sale or auction event and even though there are many online outlets to promote and market events and auctions, many platforms have fees and theres’s expenses to promote and market even using social media platforms, especially if you want to promote items online which is the current form of “advertising” in today’s digital economy.

There’s a teamwork that happens and when you have complimentary skillsets, there’s a benefit for the sellers and buyers who work with this lady liquidator, Susan Bender and me, your female Auctioneer, Lori Wilk.

We are both excited to share with the live and online audiences our upcoming Palm Beach Gardens lives and simulcast online auction being held on August 4, 2019 with the preview from 11–noon at Dejavu Estate Liquidators 4086 PGA Blvd and online simulcast auction events on sites including liveAuctioneers and invaluable.

When you have more than 550 items to be sold at a single event including live and online auctions, both ladies agree that it takes organized business skills and a team of people to help handle the customers and the operation for the most successful results.
